Description

This parameter specifies the record format of original output files (decompressed files). The data are read from the FLAMFILE and are written in form of logical records with the specified format in order to save them uncompressed.

Syntax restrictions for FLAMv4 or older:

• z/OS
  • ORECFM=F/V/U/FB/VB/VBS/FBS
  • ORECFORM=FIX/VAR/UNDEF/FIXBLK/VARBLK/VARSPAN/FIXS
  • ORECF=FIX/VAR/UNDEF/FIXBLK/VARBLK/VARSPAN/FIXS
    • Note: This value must only be specified if the record format differs from the original file.

  • -outrecformat=eaf/fix/stream/undefined/variable/var_2B/var2b_data/var_4b/var_ascii/var_ebcdic
• WINDOWS

  • F/FIX - Fixed record length
  • V/VAR - Variable record length
  • U/UNDEF - Undefined record length
  • FB/FIXBLK - Fix blocked
  • VB/VARBLK - Variable blocked
  • VBS/VARSPAN - Variable spanned
  • FBS/FIXS - Fix standard
• UNIX
  • eaf - EAF data, variable record size with a 4-byte size field in ASCII or EBCDIC code. The record size only specifies the length of the data excluding the size field. The size field is part of the data.
  • fix - Fixed record size as set by -inrecsize.
  • stream - Variable record size (max. 2048 characters) with record delimiter. Typically text data.
  • undefined - Records with no defined structure; records of an identical size are read (with the possible exception of the last one).
  • variable - Variable record size with 2-byte binary record size (including length field).
  • var_2b - Variable record size with 2-byte binary record size (including length field).
  • var2b_data - Variable record size with 2-byte binary record size (not including length field).
  • var_4b - Variable record size with 4-byte binary record size (including length field) (host).
  • var_ascii - Variable record size with 4-byte size field in ASCII code (including length field).
  • var_ebcdic - Variable record size with 4-byte size field in EBCDIC code (including length field).

  • fix - fixed record length
  • dtext - variable record length with output record delimiter, last record without delimiter
  • text - variable record length with output record delimiter
  • variable - variable record length with a binary record length of 2 bytes
  • var_2b - variable record length with a binary record length of 2 bytes
  • var_4b - variable record length with a binary record length of 4 bytes (host: length of 2 bytes, padding is ignored)
  • var_ascii - variable record length with a length field of 4 bytes in ASCII code
  • var_ebcdic - variable record length with a length field of 4 bytes in EBCDIC code
  • undefined - Records without structure. The records are written with length outrecsize

• EAF - EAF data, variable record size with a 4-byte size field in ASCII or EBCDIC code. The record size only specifies the length of the data excluding the size field. The size field is part of the data

• TEXT - Variable record length with end-of-record characters
• STREAM - Variable record size (max. 2048 characters) with record delimiter. Typically text data
• VARIABLE - Variable record size with 2-byte binary record size (including length field)
• UNDEFINED - Records without structure; records with the length inrecsize are read, last record may be shorter
• U - Undefined (Host only)
• F - Fix (Host only)
• FIXBLK - Fix blocked (Host only)
