ENCRYPT

Synopsis

HELP: Encryption specification for the archive
TYPE:   OVERLAY
SYNTAX: ENCRYPT/EXPORT.{PWD/PASSWORD()/PGP()}

Description

The ENCRYPT/EXPORT overlay lets you choose how archive contents are encrypted. A new keyset is created that is used to encrypt archive contents. Keysets are used for authentication to grant access to the data on decryption. Multiple encryption methods are available, each of which allows you to grant different levels of access to the archive. An archive can have one or more keysets, enabling different encryption methods and/or access rights for different users of the same archive. Keysets can be added or replaced using rekeying.

For more information on available encryption methods, see the documentation for each encryption object.

For a technical description about how archive encryption and the available encryption methods work, please refer to the appendix about the FLAM5 Segment Format, especially the section about "FLAM5 key management".
